According to Commitment Papers, Minnie Catherine Beheler, guardian Ohio Valley Banking & Trust Co., was committed to Louisville Baptist Orphans' Home on April 6, 1898. Commitment Bond No. 519.

According to Articles of Apprenticeship, Minta Beheler was apprenticed to Frances Goins (or Gains or Goings) of Frankfort, KY (and member of North Benson Baptist Church, Benson, KY), on May 20, 1902. Apprenticeship No. 473.

In 1951, Minnie Tate wrote to the Baptist Orphans Home of Louisville. Her address at that time was Route 5, Ohio Drive, Rome, GA. and had lived in Rome, GA forty five years. She had six children, four boys and two girls, all married. Also she had six grandchildren, 4 girls and 2 boys. She was widowed when the youngest was four. Also she states that one son and her brother (Barney) live in Evansville, IN. Her eldest daughter lives in
Hopewell, VA and the other 4 children still live in Rome.

Hospital; Funeral Incomplete
Mrs. Minnie Katherine Tate, 69, 205 Ohio Dr., died in a Rome hospital at 12:30 p.m. today following several months illness.
She had been a resident of Rome for 44 years, and for the past three months had made her home with a daughter, Mrs. Ben Whitfield in North Lindale.
Mrs. Tate was a member of the West End Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ben Whitfield and Mrs. Carl Crawford, Rome; four sons, I. E. Tate, Winoca, Ind., Hollis, Judson and Joe Tate all of Rome, one brother, Barry (sic) Beheler, Kokomo, Ind; two sisters, Mrs. Betty Linton, Port Smith, Ark. and Mrs. Bertha Vestal, Shawnee, Okla; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced later by Jennings Funeral Home.

Delayed Birth Certificate was issued to Jesse Berned Beheler on Jan 20, 1943 in Howard County, Indiana. Court order book 1; page 532.
It gives date of birth as Jan. 11, 1890 in Ohio County, Ky, a son of John Wilson Beheler and Mattie Monrow Hancock. Also says that his parents were both born in KY and that he was the 9th child in the family and the attending physician was Dr. Barnhill.

Jesse (Barney) Beheler, 74, 707 N. Armstrong St., died at 11 a.m. Sat. (Aug 1, 1964) in St. Joseph's Memorial Hospital, after a short illness. Born Jan. 11, 1890 in Anderson, Ky., he was the son of John and Madeline (Hancock) Beheler. He was married to Emma (sic-Edna) Eades in 1911 at Kokomo, and she died in 1932, in 1951, Mr. Beheler was married to Rena Radiski, and she survives.
Mr. Beheler was a member of the North Side Nazarene Church.
He was a retired Globe American Corp. employee.
Surviving in addition to the widow are three sons, Kenneth and John Beheler of Kokomo and Richard Beheler of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Vestal of Shawnee, Okla.; 17 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. A son, Don, is deceased.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the North Side Nazarene Church with Rev. Dallas Morris officiating. Burial will be in Albright Cemetery.
Friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday at the Peacock Funeral Home.


Edna May EADES

According to family stories Edna had a twin sister who was killed in an accident while playing as a child.

According to Uncle Kenneth Beheler-Edna left Kokomo when her four oldest sons were young, with a man named Walter Charles Land and had a son, also Walter Charles who was killed in World War II as a young man and a daughter Alice Charlene, who died at one year old from the Whooping Cough (about 1927-28). Walter Charles left her. Then she married Claude Morton who raised exotic birds. She died as a result of surgery for uterine cancer Ventura Co Hospital.
She was buried in Ventura City cemetery, now Cemetery Park on Poli Street in Ventura. At the time of her death she was married to Claude Morton and they lived at 1280 Poli Street near the cemetery.

Obituary--The Ventura County Star 16 Aug 1932
MRS. MORTON PASSES AWAY Funeral services for Mrs. Edna Morton will be held at 9:30 a. m. Thursday from the J. E. Barker Funeral home. Rev. W. B. Teaford of the Four Square Gospel church will officiate, and burial will follow in the Ventura City cemetery.
Mrs. Morton died at a local hospital at the age of 37. She is survived by her husband, Claude, and four sons, one of whom is in the east and the other three in Ventura. Mrs. Morton lived at 1280 Poli street.

According to Kenny he was 14 1/2 when they came back to Kokomo.

It is believed that Edna and Barney met in IL. while Edna was working in a cigar factory (in probably southern IL.)
